American Grass-Fed Beef

Our American grass-fed beef begins with raising cattle on open grass pastures between the beautiful rolling hills of Tennessee. Our holistic mob grazing practices are a natural and sustainable way to produce fresh, local cuts. We carefully raise and breed our cattle to produce the highest quality beef. They are fed on grass and other forage entirely free of pesticides and our cattle are never given antibiotics or growth hormones.

Piney River Cattle Company uses a USDA certified slaughter facility and all cattle are treated humanely throughout the beef production process. We vacuum seal all of our cuts to ensure freshness and flavor with optimum storage life. How exactly are our cattle raised? We use a process called mob grazing which involves pasturing large numbers of cattle at once, then moving herds to another pasture to let the land recover.

Studies show that mob grazing restores grass health and productivity, thus increasing forage several fold. When forage production goes up, there is more food available to feed our cattle, resulting in more quality cuts for our customers. Mob grazing practices align with Piney River Cattle Company’s philosophy that animals should be treated humanely, land respected, and customers sold the best product available.

At present, our herd consists of 700 female cows and several bulls. Through the use of our full blood heifers, we are working to grow our herd. We also have a fine herd of Purebred Murray Gray cattle and some purebred bulls. Since 1986, Piney River Cattle Company has worked to produce only the finest local meat. Each and every one of our cuts are the same natural, high quality foods we feed our families. From our farm to your table, we make sure every step that goes into creating our grass-fed beef results in fresh, delicious cuts.
